SJD Hospital

SJD Hospital is committed to providing comprehensive care for women, children, and adolescents, and has become one of the most important specialized pediatric centers in Europe. Through the Sant Joan de Déu Research Foundation, we conduct research to find new and improved treatments for pediatric diseases. As a university hospital, we also contribute to the training of healthcare professionals in collaboration with the University of Barcelona.

The Escudos Solidarios Against Pediatric Cancer Foundation was founded in 2017 by three colleagues and friends from different local police forces in Catalonia (SANT CELONI, CALDES DE MALAVELLA, and CAMBRILS). Our objective is to offer personalized police shields to raise donations for the construction of the Pediatric Cancer Center and for research. In just 5 years, our collective has grown, and we now have participation from 195 local police forces throughout the country, engaging in various Escudos Solidarios campaigns.

 The Leo Messi Foundation collaborates in the creation of the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona, the first monographic center for pediatric oncology in Spain and the second in Europe. Messi will always stand with the brave ones! Especially when it comes to helping them heal and researching childhood cancer. And he has shown it again with the #paralosvalientes campaign, of which he is an ambassador, aiming to raise funds to build the SJD Pediatric Cancer Center at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona. This ambitious project has the support of the Leo Messi Foundation, the FC Barcelona Foundation, and the IESE Business School. Because it's worth fighting for!
